We’ve always loved stop-motion and dogs. We decided to combine the two for fun, and that’s how Duff the Fluff came to life!
As kids, we made stop-motion videos using an old analog camcorder.
One school project featured “Dr. Vertebrae,” a doctor who taught the importance of car safety—including a clay car crash and ambulance rescue. We wish we still had the footage, but the memory makes us laugh.
The Real Life Duff
Our quirky, spicy, sometimes sweet, and occasionally grumpy Scottie, Duff, is our inspiration. No other dog has made us laugh so much. He is bossy, talks back, and brings charm to our lives.
Duff the Fluff’s woofs, grumbles, growls, and snorts are 100% authentic—straight from Duff himself, who has a surprisingly expressive vocal range!
Handmade Magic – Not AI
We’re drawn to stop-motion animation because it combines human touch with creativity. It has a timeless magic, like we are stepping into a storybook.
While AI and computers have their place, Duff the Fluff is about handcrafted stop-motion charm—you won’t find much digital polish here. Our work may not be perfect, but it’s heartfelt and uniquely ours.
Did you know? To create one minute of stop motion animation at a standard frame rate, we must move and photograph Duff the Fluff 1440 times! Maybe we should pick a lower frame rate instead!

Duff the Puppet
Duff the Fluff is our first stop-motion puppet, lovingly handcrafted and felted.
We had never done much felting —let alone building a puppet for animation.
He’s not perfect, but he’s ours, and we’re excited to bring him to life.
