Meet Edison, Our Adopted Elephant

This is Edison, “our” adopted elephant that we are tracking by GPS. Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds. Does your child love elephants? Are you interested in living gifts that keep giving – gifts for your kids that encourage learning to give back and to promote protecting our planet and its amazing creatures?

In our previous post, we talked about an educational, fun, interactive program where you follow an adopted elephant and track his or her travels across Africa by GPS! And the great part is, it’s not expensive!

Well, this is really, really, really amazing.

Just scan the QR code, and that’s it!

AWESOME: There is a delay in the tracker to prevent poaching! Isn’t that comforting to know?

Elephant Migration Project Idea for kids

MAKE YOUR OWN MAP

  • As you receive updates about your elephant, pin the location (or use dry-erase markers) on a fun map. You can learn about geography and migration and follow your new friend’s travels. Or make your own map!
  • There’s also this type of large peel-and-stick animal wall map for a different map option, which I want.
  • You could track them using small removable stickers like these inexpensive ones. Or use stickie-notes and write the date they were spotted.
